The Institute of Transport Studies (ITS) World Transit Research clearinghouse at Monash University in Australia is only one and a half years old and already it has been honored with the inaugural Asia Pacific Award for Knowledge and Research at the 59th annual World Congress of the Union International de Transport Publics.
The institute was selected out of 155 nominations from a total of 43 countries worldwide for the World Transit Research clearinghouse (WTR). WTR has been running since July 2010 and has served over 37,000 readers from 158 countries and over 4,000 cities and towns worldwide. The site is developed and run by Professor Graham Currie of the Public Transport Research Group at ITS Monash, and managed by Pauline Forbes, Research Clearinghouse Manager at ITS Monash.
