Medical schools and health care centers are greatly benefiting from the solutions that repository initiatives can provide, including:
-Raising the visibility of the medical research being conducted at the institution
-Providing a publication venue for students and postdoctoral researchers
-Collecting and organizing administrative documents
This has resulted in more efficiency and a better ability to meet critical institutional goals. At George Washington University, the Health Sciences Research Commons, managed by Meaghan Heselden, Metadata and Scholarly Publishing Librarian at George Washington University’s Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library, has become an integral piece of supporting these and other strategic goals. Over the course of this webinar, Meaghan will share her strategies for identifying needs on campus, reaching out to various stakeholders, and ensuring critical buy-in at all levels.
